Two Dead In Bus Crash

A Nica Expreso bus providing service between Chinandega, Nicarauga and San José, Costa Rica was involved in an early morning accident that left two dead.

The bus, driven by 58 year old Manuel Alberto Alvarez, was hit by a passenger vehicle in Jinotepe, south of Managua. The driver lost control and hit an electrical post.

The Nicaraguan Red Cross and Fire Department took almost an ahour to remove the bodies from the wreckage.

The chief of the transit police in Carazo said that empty beer cans were found in the small vehicle, assuming alcohol played a major role in the incident, which is still under investigation.
