Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Amadeo Santana, said that in the coming days will beging the expansion works on the carreterasx Masaya (Managua – Masaya), and the workd is expected to be concluded in April.
The project will cover some 1.7 kilometres between the rotonda Centroamerica and Jean Paul Genie and have a cost of US$1.2 million dollars, which will come from state funds.
Being a road with heavy traffic, the work will be done at night, said Santana.
The National Police will be establishing a strict security plan and move traffic onto alternate routes.
Part of the project are two pedestrian overpassed, one near the Movistar building and the other by the Galerías Santo Domingo. In addition, a pedestrian traffic light will be installed.
